If you are looking for a unique, heavy-bodied constrictor that stays manageable in size, the Kenyan Sand Boa for sale is an extraordinary choice for keepers of all experience levels. Native to the arid regions of East Africa, these gentle fossorial snakes are famous for their stubby tails, wedge-shaped heads, and inquisitive eyes situated right on top of their snouts.
When searching for a healthy Kenyan Sand Boa for sale, choosing a captive-bred reptile guarantees an animal that is already well-adjusted to domestic terrarium conditions and feeding dependably.
Their beautiful high-contrast blotched patterns range from deep chocolate browns over bright orange or yellow backgrounds. Because they spend much of their day swimming effortlessly beneath the substrate, watching them pop their heads out during feeding time is an absolute joy.

| Requirement | Details |
| Enclosure Size | Minimum 20″ x 10″ for an adult; secure lid; floor space over height. |
| Social Behavior | House individually outside of breeding introductions. |
| Temperature | Warm side 90–95°F, cool side high 70s°F; belly heat preferred. |
| Humidity | 30–50%, dry with a water bowl. |
| Diet | Appropriately sized rodents every 7–10 days. |
| Substrate & Decor | Aspen or a sand/soil mix deep enough to burrow, with a hide. |
To keep your snake thriving for its 20+ year lifespan, ensure your terrarium setup prioritizes floor space over vertical height. Because these snakes rely on conductive thermal energy to digest their meals, using a thermostat-controlled heat mat under the tank creates the ideal belly heat they require on the warm side.
Provide a 3-to-4-inch layer of dry aspen shavings or an arid sand-and-soil substrate mixture so your snake can express its natural burrowing instincts. Keep ambient humidity dry, but always provide a small, sturdy water bowl on the cool end for drinking. Offer an appropriately sized frozen-thawed mouse every 7 to 10 days using feeding tongs to encourage a confident feeding response.
Before receiving your new pet, set up your heating elements and verify parameters with a digital thermometer. For trusted herpetological welfare standards, consult the USARK Exotic Pet Organization or explore our internal Reptile Substrate & Heating Guide.
